At the top of the brand’s new performance tree, we find the Esprit Concept, which is set to become a production reality in 2013. Now, the company is squeezing a bit of marketing juice out of the vehicle, as it is offering us a new set of exterior and interior pictures of the concept. As you can see, the interior of the car uses a conventional two-seater layout but comes with an interesting interpretation, offering smart minimalistic design details which come to offer a bit of Lotus’ performance-only tradition.
We’ll remind you that behind the cockpit of the Esprit you can find a 5.0 liter V8 powerplant that produces 620 hp and a maximum torque of 720 Nm. The unit works with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and sends the power to the rear wheels. The supercar tips the scales at 1,450 kg (3,197 lbs), needs 3.4 seconds to deal with the 0 to 62 mph sprint and has a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). The future interpretation of the iconic Esprit will retail for a price of 110,000 pounds (the equivalent of EUR127,914 or $174,577). The vehicle will come to our world in spring 2013.
